Mesgana Child and Family Development Association is a non \u2013 governmental\u00a0Ethiopian Resident Charity organization. Legally registered in June, 2012 with the registration No. 2763 in Charity and Societies Agency.<\/p>

Mesgana Child and Family Development Association is working in Addis Ababa, Tigray and Oromia regional state\u00a0 established with the aim of sustaining the development effort through enhancing to promoting education, environmental protection, prevent the spread of HIV\/AIDS. improving reproductive and family health. socio-economic empowerment of women\/girls and youth,<\/p>

          Woreda Amba Alaje is located in Tigray south zone it has five schools in this rural kebelles , most family in this area base their living on crop farming and they fulfill there needs from selling their yearly product of crops. The school year mostly start at the mid of September and most crops are not harvested till mid of November. Thus most families cannot afford to\u00a0 has large family size on average of 4 children and cannot afford to buy school materials for all.\u00a0<\/p>

          MCFDA has visited schools and school teachers said \u201c they use rough papers clamped to teach the few students that come to school at the start of the school year \u201c<\/p>

          As the teachers said families want children to help in farming or herding cattle therefore most students come after the harvest is completed almost half year late\u00a0 and very few of students came on time and the teachers staple rough papers to use as exercise books .<\/p>

          MCFDA provides exercise book, pen, shoes, uniforms and incentives for students . this has encouraged students to attend\u00a0 at the start of school year and encourage the school community<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

          Small Irrigation Scheme<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

          The project implemented small-scale irrigation to improve the food security, family nutrition, and income of poor rural women-headed households living in drought-prone and food-deficit Woredas Tigray.<\/p>

          This irrigation schemes MCFDA built in association with stake holders and community Water reservoirs irrigation canals which will support farmers\u2019 especially Female farmers to increase their agricultural production<\/p>

          Irrigations has far more importance for farmers\u00a0 who suffer from climate change which result in\u00a0 unpredictable rainy seasons, floods and drought and locust in addition to the time lost waiting for the appropriate season<\/p>

          Irrigations supported to farm all year round instead of waiting for the one rainy season.\u00a0 And the skills training were provided to the beneficiaries to increase their knowledge and awareness of agricultural technologies and improved practices. This increased agricultural production and animal food furthermore the use of easier farming techniques helped women to engage in farming vegetable and crops for daily use\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t

          Women in rural areas of Tigray has been given trainings and given seed money to improve their trade and start different forms of trade<\/p>

          W\/ro\u00a0 Haddas has been selling cultural henna plant(Ensosela)\u00a0 for more than ten years but she wasn\u2019t profitable,\u00a0<\/p>

          With MCFDA assistance she was trained on pitty trading and granted seed money to restart her business. She said \u201cI was very much encouraged and use all the money to buy the henna plant from a whole sale for a very good price and I was able to sell it all over few weeks in which I gained a good profit which I have even more decided to add more items in my trade. I am much profitable now and I can send my children to school and feed my family as well\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
